In the hidden streets of Dili, Timor, men of all ages gamble over the fight against imported and local roosters. 

Their screams and excitment is an orchestrated crescendo of passion, fear, anger and often of desperation. 

The rhythm of hundreds of voices struggling on top of each others; the drumming of the machete, chopping off legs, one after the other.

Yet nothing can overcome the intense expressions of those that have lost everything, in one excessive gamble.

Those are the ones that silently walk away
